RuPaul Charles, the world’s most prolific drag queen of all time, has announced a new spinoff of her reality TV series RuPaul’s Drag Race which this time, will feature celebrities trying drag on for size.
The new series, appropriately named RuPaul’s Celebrity Drag Race will be hosted by RuPaul (naturally) and will feature drag icons Alyssa Edwards, Asia O’Hara, Bob the Drag Queen, Kim Chi, Monét X Change, Monique Heart, Nina West, Trinity the Tuck, Trixie Mattel, and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. The announcement was made during Vanity Fair’s New Establishment Summit. The production will be produced by RuPaul’s World of Wonder, who has produced all of the Drag Race various incarnations including the new RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and the upcoming Drag Race Canada.
It’s safe to say that RuPaul’s empire is getting bigger and that RuPaul’s production company World of Wonder is poised to have massive growth in the coming years.
